Early Life
Tom Monaghan was born on 25th March 1937 in Michigan U.S.A, his father died at the age of 4, at the age of 6 in the year 1943, he and his younger brother (James) ended up in the orphanage for 6 years, and we're later collected back in 1949.
In 1956 he enrolled into the United states marine corps by mistake, and was given an Honorable discharge in 1959.
Career
Monaghan returned to Ann Arbor Michigan in 1959 and enrolled into The University of Michigan with his younger brother James, they bought a small pizza store in Ypsilanti Michigan for $900, where they started a pizza business,
His intention was to study architecture which he never achieved because of hardship, he entered into the pizza business to pay his way through school.
He later opened three new stores and traded his younger brother a car, so as to own half of the business.
In the year 1998 Tom Monaghan sold 93% of stock ownership of Domino's Pizza to Bain Capital for an estimated $1 Billion.
Personal Life
He and his wife, Marjorie Zybach, whom he met while delivering a pizza, were married in 1962 and have four daughters: Margaret, Susan, Mary and Barbara.
